Used Beading Magazines -- UPDATE
Help Me Clear Some Space!
UPDATE: Thanks to all of you who have jumped on this opportunity. I have revised the lists below to show what is left. I desperately need to clear some shelf space, so I plan to sell off my collection of used beading magazines (mostly Bead and Button and Beadwork, with a few issues of other beading magazines). I also have a good-sized collection of Crafts Marketing magazine which is helpful for those who are serious about selling their beadwork or other crafts. These are all used beading magazines, so you can expect some turned-down page corners and other minor wear issues.
As pretty and useful as these issues are, they are heavy, I have been trying to figure out the cheapest way to ship them to new homes. The best deal seems to be a flat-rate box from the US Postal Service which will hold a bit more than a five inch stack of magazines (about 25 to 30 magazines) for a flat rate of $10.95. I'll be happy to fill the box for you with your choice of older or newer used beading magazines for a flat sale price of $25 (plus the postage). If you really, really, really like magazines, I could probably fit the entire collection into 4 or 5 boxes....The USPS also has a flat rate padded envelope which ships for $4.95. In my tests, 4 to 6 issues fit into the envelope, depending on the thickness of the particular issues. So if you only want a few issues, you can get them for $2 each (plus postage). If you tell me which beading magazines you prefer, I'll email you back and tell you how many fit in the box (or how many I have left of the sort you asked for), and you can decide whether to proceed with the purchase. Then, if you want to proceed, you can pay me via PayPal and I'll pack up your goodies and take them to the post office, so they can start heading your way. Obviously, this is a first-come, first-served situation, so if you want to complete your own collection or if you want to help someone get started in beading, this is your chance to get back issues for a lot less than the publishers are asking for them. This list was last updated on January 18, 2012.
Beadwork
Over the years, this has been my favorite, because of its consistent coverage of seed beads and the artists who use them. Jewelry Crafts
Jewelry Crafts was a bimonthly publication, filled with lots of interesting ideas and projects.UPDATE: These are all gone now. Sorry
The Crafts Report
While this is not technically a used beading magazine, The Crafts Report, a monthly publication, is full of information and ideas for marketing crafts. It is aimed both at artisans creating crafts and galleries or other shops selling original crafts. I have found so many good ideas in this magazine, and I hope you will, too!I have an assortment of 28 issues available, dating from 1999 to 2005. If you are interested in them, I can probably fit all of them in a single box, or I'll be happy to do my best selecting issues of relevance to your work, hobbies, and interests.
How to Order
To order some of these used beading magazines or inquire about a particular issue, email me at
virginia@seedbeadsmarts.com
Then I'll get back to you and let you know if what you want is still available (or if someone else just beat you to it)and what it will cost to mail your small number of magazines, or if you are ordering a box full of publications, I'll let you know how you are doing at filling the box and what else might fit in the remaining space. After you approve the order and shipping arrangements, you can use PayPal to pay me. Thank you for helping me clear some working space. I really need a little breathing space in this room, and these magazines really want to be appreciated by new owners.
